I can see this Friday I have Fight Gone Bad coming up, and I need some advice on modifications for the WOD.

“Fight Gone Bad!”

Three rounds of:

Wall-ball, 20 pound ball, 10 ft target (Reps)
Sumo deadlift high-pull, 75 pounds (Reps)
Box Jump, 20″ box (Reps)
Push-press, 75 pounds (Reps)
Row (Calories)

1) I don't have a wall ball or a 10ft target area in my garage so I'm wondering if it's a 1:1 substitute for thrusters with a #20 slam ball?

2) I don't have a rower, so I'm wondering what I can do as a substitute and have a score?

Thanks for the help!

1) I use a 20# slam ball.  I also have 10' ceilings in my garage so I try to just touch the ball to the ceiling and call it good enough.  Unless you have REALLY low ceilings I wouldn't sweat it too much

2) I use burpees - you can google a burpee calorie counter and get close

My thoughts anyway

1) 10 or 20 lb jump squat jump

2) I think a Burpee substitute works well for a rower substitute since its in calories.

I've never stepped into a "Box" so I don't know if there are modifications already in place for these types of issues.

Wall Ball Situps with the 20# wall ball to a 6ft target.

if you don't like burpees ( I love burpees.... said no on ever!) then box jump overs at 24inches would be another good sub.

Perfect. Thanks fellas. I'm going to toss my #20 slam ball overhead and catch it, and do the burpees for calories.

This is what I used as a substitute for wall balls during Harder to Kill.

I'm going to do this WOD tomorrow, and I've got a few questions:

WOD

50 burpees as fast as possible

**5,000 lb. from ground to overhead as fast as possible (safely)

50 burpees as fast as possible

**You choose the weight. You choose the reps.

For the 5,000# OH, am I choosing one weight on the bar and doing all reps at that weight? Do you think it's only supposed to be a bar wod, or should I mix in some KB swings, Dumbbell Presses, and bar lifts?

Thanks!

Basic: Training Day 32

WOD

50 burpees as fast as possible  [did these during my warm-up to save time]

**5,000 lb. from ground to overhead as fast as possible (safely)

50 burpees as fast as possible

KB Swings #25 - 20 reps
KB Swings #35 - 20 reps
Strict Press #65 - 15 reps
Push Jerk #65 - 20 reps
Power Snatch #65 - 15 reps
KB Single Arm Push Press #35 - 10 reps each arm
Total - 5,150#

Not really sure if I went about this WOD the right way, but figured I got the required weight overhead so I accomplished something. Have a nice weekend everyone!

I think this is the explanation you're looking for.
