26/04/17 (Lunchtime)

I had the wrong weeks plan with me today, so probably should have lifted a bit heavier than this. I threw in an extra set on the bench press, so that sort of makes up for it. Will make sure to update it for next week.

· Incline Barbell Bench Press –
6 x 50Kg,
9 x 45Kg,
9 x 45Kg

· Barbell Bench Press (SS with 3 pullups for 4 sets) –
8 x 60Kg,
7 x 55Kg,
8 x 50Kg
7 x 50Kg

· Decline situp, press up, decline knee tuck, chin up –
10, 10, 10, 3
10, 10, 10, 2.5 (yes, I am taking that half rep!)
10, 10, 10, 2

27/04/17 (evening)
Had to swap leg day for daddy duties at lunchtime today,so just managed to fit in a quick Kettlebell blast tonight before the football started. Will squat tomorrow!

Kettlebell 16kg
5 x 20 swing, 5 press up, 5 situps
5 x 20 swing, 5 airsquats, 5 situps
5 x 20 swing, 5 press up, 5 airsquats, 5 situps

My grip was close to failing in the last set. Something to work on.

Total - 300 Swings, 50 press ups, 50 airsquats, 75 situps

Yeah, it got the blood flowing, and was fairly quick. Still need to get some more swings under my belt before I'm capable of tackling your April wod though!

Honestly, best way is to just do it. Pick a fairly moderate weight and don't worry about the rest. First couple times I tried I think I was up in the 50 minute range and I wasn't doing any extra basic strength stuff. Do it once, hurt for a few days, get over it and try it again. Just get it done.

Ha, good advice! I like the look of this one and have it noted as a likely benchmark exercise, so I'll get to it. It likely won't be in April, but I'll get it done soon!

Managed to squeeze a quick 10 rounds of 5 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups & 15 Squats before the main events ring walks started for the boxing.
It ain't much, but at least it's something.
Now to kick back with a cold one and see how this unfolds

It was that mate. Both of them gave and took some tremendous shots, and it could have been curtains for either of in the 5th and 6th rounds. Great fight, and a rematch clause is in the contract, but I don't know if Klitschko will be wanting to take the risk of getting hit like that again at his age!

Pacing is something I've never figured out either. Looks like a good session. Nice work.

Once you do get the hang if pacing and proper form on the rower you will be surprised at the distance you can get.
I always found Kettlewell swings to be a good superset for Squats and the pull Ups for deadlifts days..

That's a good shout to superset Squats with KB swings, I've never thought of that. I'm trying to get my pullup numbers up, so I'm throwing them in wherever I can just now, but once I'm happy with them I'll give the squat / KB swing a go. Cheers

05/05/2017 Lunchtime -

Swim – 30 lengths x 25m - 19:30

2 things here -

I didn't have my watch on today, so the time was taken from the large clock at the swimming pool. I kinda forgot what time I set off, so this is the best guess based on where the clock was at when I finished and the rate that I felt I was going.

Also, I'm still getting a head ache whilst swimming, although not as bad as it was 4 weeks ago when it first happened. It now seems to be happening later in my swimming session as well, but it's still stopping me from pushing on with it. I feel like I've definitely got more in the tank to go faster / longer but these headaches are getting in the way. I've loosened off my goggles, and have been trying to keep my head position neutral and stay loose whilst swimming which I think has helped, but I think I'll try changing my goggles next week.
