I'm jealous. But I have way too many hobbies to start something new.

 

Yes, why do all the good hobbies have to be so expensive?! The good news with paddling is that now that we have all the gear it's free to go.

Had an easy weekend. Spent all Saturday on the beach, did some paddling but not really anything organized enough to consider a workout.

Played hockey tonight. Won 5-0 and had a goal so I'm happy. Playing again tomorrow night.

Conditioning Row:

 

250m - :55.8

  1 min rest

500m - 1:50.4

  2 min rest

750m - 2:51.1

  3 min rest

1000m - 3:50.9

  4 min rest

750m - 2:54.8

  3 min rest

500m - 1:54.4

  2 min rest

250m - :54.7

 

Having some muscle stiffness today, especially in my shoulders and back; no soreness other than some slight fatigue in my legs which is normal after hockey. Quick 30 minute row session to get the HR up without fatiguing the legs too much for hockey again tonight.

 

I'm trying to drop 5-10 lbs to lean out. I need to be doing a lot more conditioning but I just don't enjoy it all. I just need to cowboy the fu@k up and get to it....

Nice ladder. I'm in that same "trying to drop 5-10 pounds for the last 6 months but been really lazy with the conditioning" boat. Been enjoying the bar way too much.

Ring dips 5x5

Feeling pretty beat up today; this was more a workout of mental toughness than strength. Rest day tomorrow.

Felt awesome today for as shitty as I felt mid week.

Going to the hang out on the beach all day tomorrow; mostly rest but will definitely get in some paddling. Probably do a row Sunday morning and then have a hockey game in the afternoon. Will tackle Murph on Monday!

On Saturday I did a 3 mile ocean paddle. It ended up being a grueling 1.5 mile fight into a brutal head wind and current and an easy 1.5 mile cruise back to my beach chair. Worked out well because I knew I didn't need to save anything for the return trip although it was pretty choppy.

Yesterday afternoon I had a hockey game. We're now 4-0, I'm really liking my new team!

Woke up at 730 this morning and went straight after Murph to try and beat the heat. It sort of worked.... time was 51:30. I broke it up into 20 sets of 5/10/15 pull-ups, push ups, squats. I lost at least 3 minutes in the 16th set dry heaving in my driveway. Probably going to hit the beach again in a few.

I have never made it to this dry heave. How hard do you actually have to try before getting to this level?

Well in my case it is try moderately hard and chug too much water between sets....

I end up saying this every time I do Murph, but it still surprises me how hard the push-ups get during and how much lower body DOMS I experience after. I guess I need to start incorporating more push-ups and air squats into my finishers.

Went to a trampoline park this afternoon with some of my wife's side of the family. I didn't expect it but I'm counting that as conditioning. I was drenched when we left.

I set up a 15' trampoline for the kid... thing is a pain in the ass when it comes to mowing the lawn. And he never uses it :angry:
