Long story short, I've got some Health and Wellness $ to spend, $100-$200.  I have enough weights (can you really ever have enough?), 2 bars, plyo box, 1 med ball, 1 kbell (1.5pd).

So here's my question - what would you invest in?  Here's where my mind is going, getting as many of these as I can in no order

30# slam ball

2 35# kbells

1 70# kbell

Climbing rope

More bumper plates

New barbell

sandbags

Thoughts and opinions

Sandbags slam balls kb's in that order
There is a savage Beast in every man,
And when you hand that MAN a Barbell
and send him forth to WAR the Beast stirs

Concur. You could probably find some pretty affordable sandbags if you shop around. Just add sand. I used wood pellets in mine for some reason. Then the slam ball. Then the 2x16kg kb. Then another 24kg kb. Lucky you getting to go toy shopping.

I was going to say 70# KB before I even read your list. Sandbags and slam ball would go well with that.

I like the sandbag idea - just to make it fun, it has to come from Amazon.  Our wellness program will convert points to $ but only at the most worthless stores.  The closest I can get to something useful is Amazon - I did find a sandbag capable of 150# with good reviews and reasonable....

Thanks

I might have gone that way too. But all I could do with a 70# kb are swings so I wouldn't get as much value out of it as the other things. 2x35# kb are much more versatile. For me anyway.

I don't use mine for anything other than swings... what am I missing out on?

I think what DD was referring to is using the lighter bells for clean and jerks, snatches, TGU's, thrusters etc.  The 70# is a little too manly for most of the population except for swings.

What does "too manly" mean?

Too heavy - the thought of a KB Sn with a 2pd bell does not sound appealing for my forearm or shoulder (or maybe my form just really sucks).  I watched Pavlos do 180 reps like it was a toy - that dudes an animal.

There are probably a lot of people that can do cleans and presses with a 70# kb. I'm definitely not one of them... I wouldn't have said "too manly" though.

I fear I've had a sarcasm fail... Was only a joke as I do not believe there to be such a thing as "too manly"!  B)

Is "too manly" different than "manly enough"?

Too manly requires a Magnum PI mustache, tube socks and a white head band
