whoa had a nice experience with sciatica yesterday, doing empty bar zombie squats... I'm gonna take a few days off of any and all liting,  gotta be more mindful of mobility, stretching, and warmup before week 3!

haha!

I'm gonna look at it like my body will not grant me the same leeway it had with lazy warmups and mobility work; much in the same vein as 'then vs now' with hangovers

100%..

Then: pick up heavy shit everyday, drink every night, no problems...

Now: 3 days to recover, 3 days to recover, big problems...

Happy birthday Zodd! My mother said that Empires are built by men in their 30s. A friend's dad said that men are strongest in their forties. Haven't heard anything about the fifties yet, LOL

Heal up! What do you think you are in your twenties?

Goteeeem!

Well my mom said that 50 is the new 40 (but she also said the same thing about 60 when that birthday rolled around too, hmm)

One of my favorite quotes is "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." by George Shaw; so perhaps in your 20's you are building yourself, so then you can forge your empire (your mom is a wise woman!)

However, I first heard that quote at 27/28, so i'm hoping I'm just a late bloomer

Not much excitement here, just stretching and prehab/rehab maintenance work until sunday, which will be the start of week 3. Sciatica was just cleared as a muscle issue, so just gotta be mindful of that

Ordered a copy of "The Squat Bible" and and going to give that a thorough perusing. I think this week is going to be spent reworking the movement patterns that caused my back pain, still feeling iffy so I don't think W3 is something i should dive into, especially after the downtime.

Sunday I'm gonna restart this previous cycle, stings a bit but gotta think long term gainz

wise move - long term gains over lifelong pains! . I follow Squat University on instagram, and Aaron is very knowledgeable so I can imagine The Squat Bible would be a good investment. I would be interested to know what you thought of it when you're finished reading it.

He has actually messaged me privately different blog links to address different questions on his posts, even with 500k+ followers, so i figured the least i could do is support his work financially as well.

I almost feel like he could've tagged me in today's post on squatting

I'll make a write-up on my log after I read it!

A bit behind on my reading schedule, and have been a bit gun-shy towards squats until i finish this book, but I'm plugging along and will have a (hopefully) worthwhile review for everyone soon!

Hey Everyone!

An unexpected but necessary move happened, so I've been settling in to the new place.Holy crap what a time vacuum. I haven't had much time for the gym, but lots of pigeon poses for the sciatica. Looking forward to returning to the board

One thing I've learned the hard way with The Squat Bible - Ive forgotten how to "read". Info doesn't stick like it used to, and the attention span is much shorter than it was in college ! something to fix immediately!

Talk soon guys!
