Where the hell did my Christmas Like a Spartan challenge post go?

 

I know they are scary to some but that is no reason to be taken away...

Option #1 Total time 1:00:14

12 days of Christmas 95#

  • Deadlift
  • 2 Hang power clean
  • 3 front squat
  • 4 shoulder press
  • 5 back squat
  • 6 push press
  • 7 thrusters (this is when shit got real)
  • 8 squat clean
  • 9 push jerk
  • 10 hang power snatch
  • 11 overhead squat
  • 12 sumo deadlift high pull (or high pull of some sort)

*Final round barbell at 75#

 

Not too fun. Started to really struggle once I got to day 7. Had to put the bar down for longer periods between the push press, thrusters and squat cleans. Decided to drop weight for the final round. Should have scaled it sooner. ST is an evil man...

Put this in my log - it's a long story of being stupid and now having to do this again.....

 

 

1 - easy

2-1 easy

3-2-1 rinse and repeat

4-3-2-1 oh, this is good, heart rate up a bit but no worries

5-4-3-2-1 hmmn, the volume on the shoulders could get interesting

6-5-4-3-2-1 umm, I'm breathing pretty heavy, doubt starting to creep in, shit, it's really hard to open your lunges with a barbell over your head

7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Thrusters kick in, ego still yapping until I get to 4 OHP - WTF, this is really heavy, when did that happen

8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Starting to panic, time is adding up, lunges won't expand, shoulders burning, everyone is going to laugh at you!!! Keep moving pussy

9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Fuck, my legs feel funny, why are my feet burning, can't breathe

10-9-8 - --- DAMNIT!!! had to shut it down at 18:18 due to too much fucking around

 

Bottom line - this is a burner, I'll run it again but this time give myself more time....

Spot on play-by-play! Looks like you made it farther faster than I did... into round 10 in under 20 minutes is unreal. Those thrusters aint no joke though.

that's somewhat of my play by play in my head sometimes...other times I just keep hearing "Why? WHY?"

  • 12 sumo deadlift high pull, 11 overhead squat, 10 hang power snatch, 9 push jerk, 8 squat clean, 7 thrusters, 6 push press, 5 back squat, 4 shoulder press, 3 front squat, 2 Hang power clean, deadlift

Thought it might be a bit easier going downhill... I was wrong. Was worried about time as it was getting close to 7. Last few rounds went a lot quicker and finished off about a quarter after. Hard as fuck.
