Welcome to the second HARD(ER) TO KILL CHALLENGE 6-WEEK CHALLENGE! For the first Rogue Fitness gift card challenge we will be doing a repeat of the BAR HANG CHALLENGE. Check out the last one here
 

Your mission: Hang from a bar, unassisted, for as long as possible. 

Winner receives $50 Rogue Fitness gift card

 

Starts: 03-31-2014
Ends: 04-06-2014 (submit by 5 P.M CST) 


This is a simple challenge. Hang from a bar as long as possible. Don’t try to cheat the challenge, I’ll set the rules now, but if a rule is forgotten and it seems like you are trying to cheat the system…you will not longer be considered for the challenge prize. 

Rules:

  • No gloves, no straps, no tape. 
  • Once your feet hit the ground, it’s over. 
  • Come in contact with the vertical posts, it’s over. 
  • There MUST be at least THREE separate (different people) video submissions for ANYONE to be considered for the prize each week.
  • And while is was AWESOME to see last time, your kids will not be eligible for the prize...They have an unfair advantage lol. 

You can submit as many attempts as you would like, so long as they are posted before 5 P.M. CST on Sunday before the next weekly challenge is announced. 

 

Just hang!! 

Submissions:

  • Shoot a quick video with your phone or flip cam. 
  • Upload it to YouTube or Vimeo. 
  • Post that link here in this forum. 
  • Check out the challenge from last time if you have questions. VIEW HERE

Or ask me any questions! I will make adjustments as necessary.

Guess I can get this party started....
Last time I did this challenge I was able to hang for about 1 min and 19 seconds. Today I got 1 min and 31 seconds. I'm happy with the improvement .
No video as always

Used this as a team-building competition yesterday (we teach kids gymnastics in Plano, TX - so we thought this would be a breeze....).  

 

I think I made it to just over 2 minutes before my forearms gave out!  No video, but I'm proud nonetheless!

 

I haven't been posting my WOD results for awhile as I've followed Jerred's advice on using Evernote for everything, including program tracking, but I do follow/perform the workouts everyday;  I'm really liking this new Hard(er) to Kill challenge!  Lots going on and it's kicking my butt so far!

My little effort - just hangin in the garage gym!!

 

Up at 0:01 and down at 3:56.  Total hang time 3:55

 

Gotta admit, this was harder than I thought it would be.

Just tried this and my wife's iPhone quit recording at 1:30 in. Damn. Try again shortly. Not as easy as it sounds but I'm going to give it a good shot

Did multiple attempts over the week, got 1:00, 1:30, 2:00 and finally 2:28

Um...  Is just me or has this challenge gone awful quiet??

Does anyone know when and what the next challenge will be for week 2?  My guess is push ups.

I had every intention of submitting until the 3:55 time.  I couldn't get past a minute.

Here is mine, so Magar can win the prize.

 

 

Up at 0:14, down at 2:55, total hang time: 2:41

 

Magar set the bar really high, so I am sure many didn't either attempt or posted.

I'm so glad that you posted, so that he could win.  I had come up with the same idea and got so busy over the weekend, I completely forgot.  Yay for Magar!

Thanks for the post Sachinb.  Love the basement gym too - looks like a great setup, sure beats my ol' garage....  Will have to get into the DIY corner and see what I can build when some time frees up.  

 

I know what your saying Audrey, the days all just seem to blend into one sometimes.

You deserve it Magar. That is actually my garage, (tandem garage, so I can do some shuttle runs too).

Thanks to Jerred and his DIY corner, built 2 boxes (12,16,20) & (20,24,30),  kettlebell (plate holder) & wall balls (filled basket ball with salt pallets).

The wall ball in the video actually I recently got as a freebie from an affiliate where I completed CF open. Before that I was using the one I made using Jerred's DIY.
